Every socket made by Craftsman! Though made in China, they carry the Craftsman lifetime warranty. Wait for the price to drop, as it changes regularly. You can pick this set up for 299.00 if you just keep checking the sale price..
discription says, word for word, "this set includes every chrome socket size made by Craftsman in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2-inch drive". totally not true. does not come with any 12 point 1/4" drive sockets and craftsman DOES make them. these are sockets that i need and will have to go back to buy separately.
Always associated Craftsman with Made In USA quality. Not so much now. Sockets are made in China. Easy Read is very light and not indexed to square drive end, so when placed on a socket rack the size does not face forward. Also one 1/4" drive by 5/16" socket was stamped upside down.
My father always purchased Craftsman tools. After his passing I inherited all of the tools. Belt sander, circular saw, radial arm saw, hand saws, hammers and various hand tools.... all made in The USA! So disappointed in Sears move to tools manufactured in China.
On a positive, all sockets were delivered and coincided with the packing list.
The only clear markings denoting size is the small typical stamped imprint found on the base of most sockets sets- nothing easy to read about this set. Out of the 299 pieces , maybe 5 or 6 have a different / not as polished look - more flat in appearance than remainder.
Fighting to get sale price as advertised- cannot believe Sears uses the worst Phillipean overseas customer service- worthless. Understandably why Sears will be out of business in a year. Sad-
I do consider myself lucky when compared to other reviews... I did recieve every socket listed in set and it was packaged safe / secure / in good shape.
Poorly made sockets the "Alloy" is starting to shift and i've only used them twice. These sockets round corners even the six points they hold the very corner not the side like the old USA made one did.
I actually received all the sockets in my order, so to that end, I feel fortunate. The etching is horrendous on my set and is pretty much useless. The stamping is VERY small. Having this set properly organized in a chest will go a long way towards finding your desired socket.
There were some nicks and tiny dents in a few of the sockets. Edges were rough on a couple.
For the SALE price (Nearly half off), the set is worth it as you get a ton of variety and will probably not be wanting for anything at 9pm on a Sunday night.
Factor in the clearance price AND being able to turn in a broken socket at your local big box CM dealer...and its worth the purchase if only to ensure you have a full contingent of sockets AND you won't be beating on them for a living.
All I can say is this is every socket I will ever need. The set is all sockets, not a bunch of Allen key and bits to make the part count seem high.
