Made in China for the same price as before

I've had my 3/8" ratchet for over ten years, over which time I used it on at least a weekly basis.  FInally, the ratcheting mechanism showed some signs of wear.  I took it in to get it replaced and found the new ones were made in china.  The salesman mentioned he had many of the new 3/8 and 1/2 returned due to failures.  At the same time, the price is still the same!

This is sad.  I always went for the USA made Craftsmans hand tools.  Now I'll have to find a new company to buy ratchets.

Craftsman 3/8 inch ratchet

|

This is a replacement for a ratchet I got 10 years ago which was a replacement for a ratchet I had for 40 years. The mechanism is sloppy just like the last one. I don't expect it to last more than 10 years which is sad since I only use it occasionally.

Sears service *****

|

I called to get replacement tools for Craftsman items that were faulty. I was treated like a criminal. Instead of sending replacement tools, I was given points to purchase the tools on Shopyourway......what a joke. I couldn't purchase any of the items that needed to be replaced because they weren't available and I had to pay the freight to ship them.....truely the worst customer service ever. No wonder Sears/Kmart is going out of business.
