Pay attention. 4 ton rating is for the pair. When used together, you will be able to safely support 4 tons or less. 8,000 pounds. To put that into perspective, the current generation of Ford F-150 has a GVWR of 7,050 pounds. These jack stands will be able to safely support a 1/2 ton light duty pickup truck, or anything else smaller. This product will be fine for any size passenger car, sedan, compact, coupe, subcompact, et cetera. There are only 4 parts, held together by 2 roll pins. The weakness is in the roll pins. Inspect prior to each use. Ensure that the roll pins are intact, in place, and do not appear to be backing out. I still have a set of these from when I was a kid. Back then, they may have been Made In U.S.A. Today, I don't know where they are made. The roll pins on my jack stands have never backed out or fallen off. Not to say that it can't happen. If I already have 2 sets (4 jack stands), why am I buying more? A gift for a family member getting her first car. Now she will have these forever too. Mine are stored in my garage, and used regularly. As a person with several cars, I maintain my vehicles every few months, which means that once a month I'm using the jack stand on one of my vehicles. Since this is not an industrial product, it is not engineered to be used repeatedly through the day, every day. Due to the simplicity in design, there would be no problem using it every day. And if you have a long term project, these jack stands will work perfectly. You will be able to leave a build on these for months, if not years. Product comes with a 1 year warranty. This item will last a lifetime. You will own this forever.
Bought these stands many months ago. Price was GREAT and the stands have stood up to the Craftsman name. Very pleased with my purchase.
Works as it should.
