The Craftsman 41-Inch 4-Drawer Heavy-Duty Ball-Bearing Top Chest is a great unit. Well made and constructed. Well finished, great paint job.
Really disappointed with the quality of Craftsman tool chests compared to many units/ stacks I have bought for the last 20-30 years. Metal thinner, drawers , and glides flimsy , wobble around while opening , don't close as well as past units, price on sale cheap, but so is product ! I give it 2 stars only because it arrived on time , packed well with no external damage , and lady at customer service was helpful in pulling up some info on how to open drawers ....( lid opened with keys taped on top, but not drawers ) There was no instruction/info . She found info on line that said that the lid must be open, to open drawers ( well I had already done that , just not ALL the way open) because I had the unit in a stack of shelves with only enough room to open the lid 6 inches ( all the room I needed to store manuals books, etc in there ) Hello Sears ..don't lock the manual inside the drawers to where you can't get to it , To Learn How To Lock/Open Drawers ...duh I also found to KEEP the drawers unlocked , you must have lid all the way open...and pull all drawers out at the same time before closing the lid , otherwise they won't stay unlocked ...I was doing all this maneuvering / lifting / positioning by myself , and unit is heavy 75 lbs? But here is the best part... when pulling out drawers , ALL of them would fall on the right side , as if they weren't attached properly in back ! Well after taking all 4 drawers out /off the tracks I could see that NONE of the 4 glides were attached in the back of the tool chest on the right side! At this point I would have sent it back except I had destroyed the box as I had to cut it open , and lift chest by itself on car lift and onto SEARS roll around cart then up and into shelf ....as I was by myself , and didn't want anymore back injuries ...sooo off to the hardware store and find some sheet metal screws the right size .. drill holes inside where the sliders should have been attached. Thanks Sears I'm out of space to finish
This tool chest is very well built. Heavy enough that it really takes two people handle it empty. Drawers slide smoothly on ball bearings and there is plenty of room. Great addition to my chest.
I wish that it was it black and more options for long drawers
Well made top box. I am pleased with my purchase.
