I have always wanted , needed a sweeper and as the older I got the more it became a must. So when I bought my Sears Monster Tractor I also purchased a great sweeper. It works just as I hoped it would and better, picking up Oak leaves and Pine needles. The load of leaves I sweeped up was just so much. I have saved several days of raking and my back. I can now do it in less than half the time. This is an awesome sweeper that I plan on having and using for many years. Thanks for another great product.
I purchased this sweeper in April of 2011 because my old 38-inch Agri-Fab was wore out after 10 or 12 years. I liked the 8 to 1 brush to tire rotation ratio on the Craftsman. I thought the higher speed would pick up more grass and leaves than the Agri-Fab. I live in a forest with some open and sunny areas and need a sweeper to clean up as I mow. Within a year or so I had to replace a brush segment because the bristles had fallen out. Then the next year two more segments lost their bristles and had to be replaced. This year a metal brush retainer bracket broke in half and one of the brush segment looked like a spiral staircase after it wrapped around the brush spindle with a clatter. I ordered new brackets and straightened the brush segment as well as I could and re-assembled the brush. Now, both tires have come off the rim. At $50 a pop for new ones I decided to try to remount the old tires but they kept coming off anyway. Then I used screws to hold the tires to the rim. They still come off. Now I am giving up. Time to buy a new sweeper. Not buying a Craftsman. The design is poor and the sweeper is junk.
Rakes the grass clippings and fallen leaves like a charm. How'd we live without it. You'll rank it with your microwave oven. Time saver for sure. I've found it better to let the grass clippings dry a day in the sun. But don't leave the clippings through a rain. Price is a bit high, but I've found it saves so much time and energy that I've forgotten about the price.
Works very well, happy with it.
Not bad for the price I paid. Have to make multiple passes to pick up the grass, but much easier then taking hours to rake our large yard. This unit picks up grass pretty well, along with small twigs, and black walnuts from our walnut tree. Good value and saves lots of time.
Why did I wait so long, to get one. This sweeper is great. Just got it today. 11/18/2014 I was able to do my yard and both houses next door in the time it would take me to just rake my back yard. I love it! The trick is not to set the sweeper to low at first, and do not over fill the holding bin. Dump it often very often. If your thinking of getting one, DO IT . YOU WILL SAVE SO MUCH TIME. As with everything, you get what you pay for. Stay away from units priced under $250
