Great Value

While the quality may not be the same as some 10k Snap-On boxes, I was more than suprised at the professional grade quality for the price I paid.I would recommend this box, as well as the top box, to anyone who wants a step up from the boxes available in store, but doesnt want to pay a professional price.

Craftsman 56" Roller Cabinet

OK, I hate saying it but I am disappointed. I had a 46" Craftsman box for 20+ years, kinda out grew it and it had the old non-ballbearing slides. I always wanted a big professional tool box. I waited until it was on sale for $907 and ordered it. Loses one star for the $251 shipping charge (and the shipper didn't want to send in in a truck with a lift gate, wanted "me to unload it", until i said send it back). Loses another star for the dent it came with on the front (not big enough to return it). And the last star for the drawer closures. They are spring loaded to stay closed, but when you close the drawers they "snap" back closed with enough force that after a few times all my tools have slid to the back of the drawer in a pile, very annoying. I hate being disappointed, I wish they had them on display in the stores, I would have been able to find this out and probably bought an old style craftsman box.

Worth the money, excellent quality, fast delivery

I ordered this toolbox back in February to replace an old 26 inch craftsman tower that i had since lost the keys to. As a professional automotive technician i took a great deal of ribbing from my co-workers about not purchasing a snap-on/mac/matco box. However on arrival and after assembly (wheels/pushbar) I was overjoyed with my purchase. the paint was spot on and each and every drawer functioned with a smooth slide and have a refined retaining mechanism to ensure that drawers do not open by themselves. For roughly 950$ after tax and delivery i got a great box, delivered to my shop in about 7 days. The snap-on/mac equivalent of this box runs in excess of 4000$ so getting the craftsmen (3000$ less ) allowed me to fill my box with more mac tools, instead of Nameless junk. I am currently looking into the top box that matches, and it is likely that i will purchase it for many of the same reasons i got the cab in the first place. It has been four months since ive purchased this box and i no longer take any **** from my elitist co workers, and many have said they may consider a craftsmen box when they seek out a new one.

56" 10-Drawer Cabinet

|

I own 5 other Craftsman tool chests, all of which are still in full service. My oldest is a 1975 model, is still in great shape, and is used daily. I bought this cabinet to store all of my machining tooling in one place. I have friends who own the other "elite" brands of tool cabinets, but I honestly can't imagine anything that would beat this one. This is probably the most well-built cabinet I own, and it arrived via trucking co. in perfect condition. I bought it on sale, and the shipping was free. The only problem I had was with the included self-tapping screws for the casters. They didn't appear to be long enough for full thread engagement, and they were extremely difficult to get started. I ended up drilling out the holes in the cabinet and using 1/4" bolts / nuts instead. My opinion is that this is a much more secure way of attaching the casters, and eliminates the issues with the screws. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of this cabinet.
