Insufficient for industrial use.

3/8 ratchet broke the 2nd time I used it. Upon returning it to sears they DO NOT offer the same style rachet for replacement. They wouldn't let me return the whole case for exchange either. The rachet that was sent as s replacement is polished chrome that will not fit securely in the case. The sockets slip off anything that is extra snug, the adapters for both drives that allow you to use a hex key socket do not lock into place inside the head when downward pressure is applied the adapter pops through the socket head. I work as an maintenance electrician and was hoping to use these as my everyday socket set, but the flaws in design make it unacceptable to use everyday. I want my original replacement so I can shut my case without warping the hinges please.

Rusts WAY TOO EASILY. I REGRET BUYING IT

|

I have had this toolkit for many years, and I initially loved it. Kept it in my truck in case I needed it. So naturally, when I started as a Tow Truck Driver, I carried it with me. And that's when the problem started.

I changed oil with it one night, and never gave it a thought when it started to sprinkle a bit. Thinking its a Craftsman Tool kit, a little rain shouldn't hurt it. It seriously wasn't much more than a sprinkle.
Imagine my surprise when I go to use it the next day to swap a battery and its rusted.

Everywhere.
Everywhere a drop of rain hit, there was now rust.
Seriously? I hardly used it!

So I just clean them up, slightly annoyed but it is still a good kit.

Until months later.

I get caught in a big rainstorm in the tow truck.

Guess what managed to get wet in the truck, even though it was closed up?

Having had enough, I go to get it replaced, and...its not covered. They called it abuse. Total B.S.
I've had cheap tools that didn't rust this bad. I regret buying it.
