This vac was easy to assemble and it is also easy to use. It's very lightweight and rolls around smoothly. The suction is very strong, and it comes with a few attachments. I've been using it in the basement for general cleaning in the laundry area and in my craft area (mosaics) and it works well. An improvement would be to have attachments stored on the canister somewhere so they don't get lost, but otherwise it's perfect, and I am happy with it.
I used my vacuum as part of renovating a house I bought. The supplied hose broke away from the connector that attaches clips on the vacuum after less than a month of usage. I would not buy again as the hose is going to cost half of a brand new complete set
I had two shop vacs. They were the real small ones. One shop vac was purple and the other was blue. They were both each only about 2.5 - 3 gallons. They had good suction, but the 1 1/4 tube would always get clogged on both. And both were intensely loud. Both those shop vacs show a CFM of like 170, but this craftsman showed only like 70 (I forget the exact amount), which is far less than the shop vacs, so I thought the craftsman would be weak by comparison, but I bought anyways, cause it said that it was quiet. Well, it's not weak at all, is on par with the shop vacs suction and being that this craftsman has a 1 7/8" tube, I'm not exactly sure how it seemingly has the same amount of suction power. Oh and so far this one does not clog at all, which is a huge plus and another reason why I went with this one. In terms of loudness, I would cringe when I would turn them on, cause I live in a town home and didn't want to disturb my neighbors, but when I turned on this Craftsman I was so pleasantly surprised with how quiet it is. I have no concern now of turning on. The one negative though is, where the stiff part of the hose meets the flexible part, for some reason, since one of my hands tends to grab there, the flex part pinches the skin on my fingers as I move the wand around. A little bit annoying, but some black (to match color of wand) duck tape will fix that. I forget what I paid for the shop vac bags, but these bags seem expensive. I have not bought any bags yet and none came with the craftsman. Not sure if the price is the same, but i actually saw online that kmart sells these bags cheaper than sears or ******, so that is where I will buy them. Also, 6 gallon is perfect, have to clean the vacuum less now than my shop vac and 10-12 gallon would have been too bulky for my usage at home/garage.
What a great shop vac! Perfect size with tons of suction!!
