Best storage ever. These things came so well packed that it took more time to unpack than to put the feet on and level it. These are not the cheap garbage you get in the "other" places. They are built to be air dropped into a war zone. Storage is great and the door storage is genius.
This is the second identical cabinet that I have ordered, so clearly I like its function and utility. It is a nice design. My disappointment comes from some damage that I noticed when unpacking it. The cabinet was dented on the side, and on the lower, right front corner, it suffered a separated weld joint. My wife reminded me that a similar experience happened last time, but I noticed this at the pick-up location because I unpacked it on-site. With the first cabinet order, they provided an replacement on-site . This time I rented a van to pick up the cabinet st Sears, so it was not until I got it home that the damage became evident. Yes, I could take it back and ask for another one, but it would involve a lot of time and the cost of renting a van once again, which was about $50. Instead I decided to ignore the dent, repair the separated structural weld myself, and also get the necessary hardware to stabilize a shelf that had a missing bolt and nut in the left front. Another shelf had a screw that was very loose, so I had to tighten it, and decided to check all the others on each shelf. This was not a cost, but it was in line with the workmanship that ships a new product with a bolt obviously missing on one shelf. It is not an ordinary bolt and nut, so it took time to go to the hardware store and get help to match it with another one that I removed for reference. All in all, this transaction left me disappointed in the workmanship and handling. It was packaged well, so the dent and broken weld most likely arose from the box being dropped a some point in the shipping and handling. But, as I said, it is a very nice product, so I took the effort to compensate for the defects I discovered. After repairing the failed weld joint, providing the missing hardware and ignoring the dent, I will have a functioning product, one that I paid new price for, but is visibly damaged and clearly not in new product condition. Sometimes things do not exactly work out as they should.
My cabinet arrived well packed and dent free. The only flaw I found was the lock was loose. Overall much better quality and better made than I expected. The door shelves suit my storage requirements to a tee. I will be ordering another one asap
Ordered 3 on sale for store delivery. 2 of the three were damaged on side and back. 1 of them the key didn’t fit the lock which I immediately returned to the store. The clerk said he entered a refund into the kiosk. After two weeks my Sears account still showed I had picked up the cabinet and there was still a charge to my sears credit card. I went back to the store and the store went into liquidation for closure. The manager said the clerk should have given me a refund receipt. Then told me they couldn’t refund the item since they are now in liquidation. She told me I would have to take it to the nearest Sears (100 mile round trip) I ended up taking the damaged cabinet with Broken lock back home. FYI 3 other items on this order never even showed up and after 1 month still shows I picked them up and have not received a refund to my credit card. This has all happened before with Sears. I’ve learned my lesson I’m done. Sad for all the employees but Sears online ordering and store pickup is a major reason they are getting bad press and closing up, not to mention Craftsman Junk!
