Great Frame

If you get this with the accesories, do not tighten the bolts on the workbench. I got the full set up and had to put in and take out the same bolts over and over. This bench is great. If you get it with the drawers and top, it will be solidly stuck to the ground. No shaking on this bench. Good buy. My advice is to wait for it to go on sale. very disappointed

very disappointed with the product. The one of the legs was bent during shipment but I was able to straighten it enough to get it to work. after assembly I could not get the bench to level because where the leveling foot screws into the leg was not secure. This is why sears is doing poorly in sales

I needed to cut one of the bars because it was missing a notch. Kind of solid and a ton of pieces.

Some quality control issues

|

A solid bench overall with well built leveling feet. Bench had no wobble and was very sturdy. Unfortunately They affixed the Craftsman logo upside down in the faceplate for my bench. You can't simply flip the piece over due to the cutouts for the drawer attachment and such. It's an easy fix, just heat the rear with a blow torch and the logo comes right off and can be oriented properly. But for a frame that costs over $100 I would expect the logo to be applied right side up

show bench

|

The bench is well designed, solidly built and it looks great. The overall height could be a problem depending on the task at hand. 41” is ridiculously high for a work bench. I see why they made it high though. Craftsman offers a mobile cabinet (Model # 59272) that would slide right under there… I like the fact that the bench can be customized with different modules. The feet are easily adjustable, but do not provide enough travel to compensate for a standard sloping garage floor. The top is not a good laminate like Formica. It appears to be melamine, which will scratch easily. I do not expect it to last long. If I had it to do over again, I’d buy the top separately, and probably opt for the maple since I’ll be using this bench mainly for woodworking and electrical repair. If I had a transmission to work on, I certainly wouldn’t put it on the standard top. And if I did, I’d need a step to get to a better working height. Or, to keep my show bench new, just fix it on the floor.
