Finally decided to pull the trigger and buy a new lawn mower. So far I have only used this mower once. My 3 sections of yard require 3 different height requirements and one of them is a hill, which is why I went with this mower which has 1 lever to adjust all four wheels ride height. There is a less expensive model which is the same but has individual levers for each wheel. If you have to change the height for your yard/yards I suggest you choose this one. Also the self propelled feature is great. I chose rear wheel propelled due to the 35 degree hill in my yard and it handles it just fine. The speed features for the self propelling take a little getting used to. Im 5'9" and I use the slowest setting, otherwise Im running after the mower. So if you have long legs or naturally walk fast you may want to use the faster settings. I read the reviews before buying and saw a lot of "it makes too much noise." Im sorry, but I thought you were buying a lawn mower!?!? Mine sounds just fine and guess what! .....it sounds like a lawn mower! I also read that people said " its hard to start." I stopped and started it at least 7-8 times to empty grass and it started right back up each time on the first pull. No primer button, so I could see why you might have to pull it a couple times. Compared to my last mower, this one, for me, has a large gas tank. There is an attachment for a "Desk Wash System." For those of you that have never seen one before, you remove the attachment, thread it on to your hose and clip the attachment back on to the mower and it cleans the underside. I personally have yet to use this. Very easy to assemble right out of the box. It comes with a bag of oil that is the exact amount of the mowers capacity. Unless there are issues the second time I use this mower, I highly recommend this product.
Very first time I used it the back wheels locked up , used the second time and it did the same thing
This is a great mower. Easy to maneuver. And, I am a 60 something woman.:)
Received lawnmower and thought it would be great. Have had issues since I have used it. Takes 4 to 5 pulls to start it.
Starts first pull every time. Easy to adjust height with a single ****, easy to clean with the hose attachment. Hopefully it will last as long as the other Craftsman I had.
Love this mower. This is my second one. The other I purchased it approximately 10 years ago and it still works. Never had any problem with it, but now the cables are so old, they all have broken. I use tie raps to hold the throttle open and the self propel is very weak I purchased this as a replacement and could not be happier. They made quite a few improvements. It's faster, more powerful and the self propel is spot on.
The self cleaning works very well. I have it on my old mower, but did not realize you need to have the motor running to get optimal results until purchasing this one. Of course, the one pull start-up is awesome. Can't say enough about the Briggs and Straton engine. They just want die. Hopefully I will get 10 years out of this one.
I purchased the mower on 02/06/17 via online. I picked up the mower from my local Sears store on 02/22/17. I used the mower for the first time on Friday, 03/10/17. The drive gear would not work at all. I called the online corporate phone number, was advised to drain all the oil and gas fuel out of it, take it back to the store I picked it up from, and I could exchange it, or have it repaired. I called the local Sears store, and was told to wait until Monday, when a management member was available. I waited until Monday, management was in a meeting, I left a message. No call all morning. I called again, in the afternoon, about 1:07 p.m. Management was still busy. I was told to leave a message, again! I quickly advised the Sears employee that I already did that and I had not received a call back. So, I got put on hold, and then I was advised to bring in the faulty mower; which I did. Once, I actually got in the store with the faulty mower, I was treated courteous, and the employee was prompt to help me choose a replacement. I just can't give this mower a high rating, because of all the inconvenience I had to experience.
