Well made was easy to install, It fit my mower with 20 inch tires.
I purchased a Craftsman GT 6000 garden tractor in-store 2/25/2011. I purchased over $1,100.00 worth of accessories/attachments for it online the next day. We picked everything up at the store the afternoon of 3/1/2011.
The shoddy spot welds on the hitch broke early in the afternoon of 3/4/2011, after receiving less than three full days' worth of use. I then went to ******* and purchased what we needed to repair the welds.
If you purchase this item, make sure you have access to welding equipment. You are likely to need it. Otherwise, you'll be returning your hitch for another one that is constructed just as shoddily as the one that broke.
However, it only raises and lowers about an inch or two. Not really what I expected. I may need to do some more adapting. It is well built, and easy to use with easy removal and reinstallation when needed for other uses.
Why in the world would this simple sleeve hitch take more than 30 days is beyond me...Had I known it was going to take this long, I would have looked else where. Next time, I'll be sure to ask the online chat just how long delivery will take. You can do better Sears so much better
Disappointed frequent shopper..... won't recommend this product to family and friends...
Ahead of purchasing, I used Sears' customer support to ensure this would fit my new Husqvarna 348D garden tractor. When I got it to install, I chose option #1 which appeared to be the best fit, & installed the 2 bolts on either side to mount the brackets. The installation didn't quite look right--it hung just under the reserve fuel tank, & I had very little room to access the freewheel lever, plus the hitch sat a full inch above the existing tow hitch hole. (The last thing I wanted to undertake was drilling new holes in my tractor.) So I tried inverting both brackets 180 degrees, & that worked--the hitch sits right where it's supposed to. The only glitch is that that I'm only able to use 2 of the 3 holes for positioning the drawbar--so it won't lower as far as I'd like. I hope to eventually tinker with this enough to figure that out too. But if anyone is having trouble getting their hitch to fit, I'd recommend inverting those brackets & seeing if that works.
The instruction manual could be a lot better, & (surprise!) I didn't receive all of the hardware (a call to Agri-Fab, the manufacturer) was easy enough to get free replacement parts.
welds broke first time I used it.....very poor and sloppy match up of assembly pieces...need all kinds of tools to make parts fit..would not buy again or recommend to some one with out shop and good mechanical abilities...however it worked fine after all the modifications.
This thing is pretty heavy and looks to be very rugged. I believe it will do the necessary work with no problem.
