We have had so much trouble with gas trimmers so I talked my husband into a cordless. He is very impressed! It did a wonderful job and the charge lasted through everything he trims in our whole yard. The fact that it charges fully in 70 minutes is a nice feature, just in case. I like the fact that he doesn't have to "bump" it to get string to advance. No scalped spots!
The battery was charged overnight and still only worked in 3 or 4 second burst the next day. I returned the trimmer immediately since it was already late fall. Will await to spring to resume looking for a better cordless trimmer.
Item received ok but battery dead on arrival and would not charge in either of two working chargers. Sears would not exchange the battery but required return of entire unit after I had assembled it. An exchange of battery would have been a much better solution all around.
Excellent tool easy to use and lightweight, I am happy with it.
I have a gas model with attachments - I love it and it even takes down small saplings - now this one is perfect for my wife - she buzzes around doing trim work and clean up cuts. She actually uses it and we get a lot more done. Light and recharges quickly.
Will never get craftsman products again. I had to drive all the way back to the store. Cashier never said sorry. It looks like someone returned and the. They put it back on the shelf. Bad customer service
I live in the Florida Keys and wanted something that would work well for getting around my tropical plants. As long as I keep up on it and do not allow the weeds and grass to get too heavy this works great. I did not realize it was only for 0.65 string so it is not has robust as i had hoped. It has an automatic feeder for the line that is good in that it prevents you from accidentally feeding out line, however it sometimes does not feed out line when you need it, so you can manually feed line in that case. The battery lasts long enough for me to trim around my 1/3 acre lot. It is adequate enough for the average homeowner.
