I've used this about 4 or 5 times on my 3 pieces of property. The property I bought has not been taken care of in YEARS. Branches from the trees growing/lying on the roofs. Small trees growing up against the foundation. Brush everywhere. Pros It's well made. It comes with a cool little green cover that snaps on and makes it easy to hang up and keep the shaft clean Cons I found the chain a little too tight The oiling system seemed to apply too little oil. (I'd rather waste oil than the ruin the chain or chain bar.) I used less than half a tank of oil for 4 hours of work. These are little issues that didn't take more than a few minutes to correct. The plastic chain guard (used for storage or transporting) doesn't stay on, I used a bungy to hold it on. All in all, this thing should last for years if taken care of. You can make your yard look like it pro did it! I've also used this attachment to de-limb and section cut trees I cut down with a chain saw. Easier on the old back! BE CAREFUL WEAR THE SAFETY GEAR Don't try to cut the whole thing in one cut. Cut small sections of the branch until you get to where you want it to be. Think about where the branch is going to fall, or swing...BEFORE YOU CUT Clear the area after a few cuts so you have some place to move without staggering over debris. Make sure the chain/bar gets plenty of oil
It cut great about 6 times. The first time it got bumped the plastic chainsaw head cracked where it attaches to the pole. That was the end of it. If this piece was made from metal I would have a working chainsaw and would like it.
Says it will cut eight in limb. Wrong! From the bar stopto the tip of the chain is only seven in. Also will not fit all Craftsman weed eaters. The spline attachment is configured different on some. Plus the Corporate office of the CEO doesn’t care! I wrote two letters to Mr Lampert and he or no one else in the Corporate office cared to reply to discuss and take care of the issue. That’s why I believe they are closing stores and going under! They just don’t CARE!!!!
I bought this item to trim some trees at my daughters house and I do not regret purchasing it. It matched up to my 4 cycle trimmer and I had it installed and trimming in minutes. It sure beat tying to use the manual tree saw on the pole and really saved me a lot of time and energy. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to remove some lower limbs.
Performs well nice product for the price
Bogged down in the beginning, but once I realized you needed to keep the RPM's up on the motor it went through up to 6 inch limbs like hot knife through butter. Great tool.
