Description Specifications
Connect with Your Yard Work with the Craftsman Hedge Trimmer Attachment As long as you have an attachment-capable gas trimmer, you can add on this 22 in. Swath Hedge Trimmer Attachment and sculpt your hedges into the shape you want. The wide, hardened-steel blade is strong enough to cut large bushes with woody branches, but it has the finesse for shaping smaller shrubs with a more delicate structure. The dual action blade lets you make straight, precise cuts for even hedges. You don't have to get into a painful position to reach areas of your shrubs either as you can approach your trimming from a variety of angles. The articulating head adjusts from 0 to 150 degrees, so you can pick the best angle for the job.

  • The 22" Swath Hedge Trimmer Attachment is compatible with Craftsman attachment-capable gas trimmers plus many universal trimmers
  • The articulating head ranges from 0 to 150 degrees, allowing for various angle cuts
  • The wide hardened-steel blade makes trimming go faster than smaller trimmers
  • Dual-action cutting lets you create sharp, precise cuts
  • Includes a handy storage hook
  • Measures 38.47" x 3.98" x 3.42"

Great for clearing brush on steep terrain

I've bought several attachments for my Craftsman 25cc 4-stroke straight shaft trimmer over 4 years. They've all worked well so I added the hedge trimmer to my collection. I live on rural acreage in western NC mountains and some areas of my property are too steep to safely mow, even with a push mower. I've been using the string trimmer attachment to keep the vegetation at bay, and worked out fairly well, especially with a Weed Warrior trimmer head. But the hedge trimmer is much more efficient in both dicing the brush to small pieces and it cuts a wider swath than the string trimmer. I cut the steep areas only a few times each year, so a lot of 1/4" to 3/8" tall grass, brush, saplings, etc., pop up. The hedge trimmer slices through these easily. Of course, because the blade opening is 3/8", anything larger than 3/8" diameter might get gnawed but not cut. The articulating head works well and it is easy to adjust in just a few seconds. The straight shaft trimmer with any attachment is moderately heavy, and the hedge trimmer attachment is the heaviest of all I own. It is not ideal for the "strength impaired" but for most people it is very manageable. I'm no Hercules but I do a lot of manual work to keep in shape and handling this attachment is easy for me (fifty-something year old guy). I don't have hedges in the usual sense for home decoration, but I have a long hedgerow that grows on an old cattle fence. This trimmer works fantastically at keeping the jasmine vines trimmed back. I've used this many times over six months and find this to be an excellent purchase for me.

Do Not buy this Hedge Trimmer Attachment.

I bought this attachment and used it on box wood hollies, it made a sound like gears grinding and of course it quit working. I took it back to Sears which gave me another with no problem. With #2, I finished up the hollies and went on to ground cover when about half way thru the exact same thing happen again. This time I took it apart to see what was going on. I now see that the gears are not made from harden steel but made from soft alloy. I took #2 back and got my money back. Just to let you know I have all the other attachments and for years I have not had any issues with them.
