This snow thrower can't throw the snow far away. So it is great if you have narrow driveway. but if you have 2 car wide driveway, you will struggle to throw the snow from the middle of the driveway out of way. Other than that it is great snow thrower. Easy to assemble, easy to operate.
We bought this snowblower 2 years ago on a black Friday sale. We used it lightly, and it has pretty much fallen apart. Of course it's only a one year warranty. We live in northern Michigan and get a ton of snow, but we have a small driveway so thought this model would be fine. My husband replaced the belt last year, which broke again yesterday as he was testing it for the winter. When he took the belt out, the pully came out with it. It's at the shop, with an estimated $200 repair bill. I think we'll junk it and get something that will actually work when it snows. It looks like a nice machine on the outside but is a piece of junk on the inside. Buyer Beware!
This worked well in year 1, pretty well in year 2 and didn’t work in year 3 ... did all of the routine maintenance throughout the year, emptied the gas, everything ... wouldn’t cold start when I needed it to work ... brutal. Not going to buy another gas start machine again ... electric start, here I come.
This unit only barely handled light snow the first season of use. The second winter, it was difficult to start and the drive belt failed after the first use the second season. It could only handle light, fluffy snow and was horrible at wet snow, unable to throw it far enough and frequently clogging. After replacing both the drive and auger belts in preparation for season #3 of use, this horrible machine refuses to start and run.
This is the worst machine ever, I've used it a total of 3 times since I bought it 2 seasons ago. It does not start up at all, many people have tried and I had to have it serviced once last year when I tried to use it for the 4th time. The worst money I've ever spent!
Used it twice last season when I bought it, went to go start it up this season and it will not start. Cleaned carb, new spark plugs, fresh gas etc and I cannot get it to start.
Warranties should really be longer on snowblowers as you only get to use them once or twice during the winter months. Bought this snowblower 2 winters ago and at first it was ok, low powered, doesn't throw snow very far but did the job in my small driveway. 2nd snowfall next winter, the auger belt popped halfway down my driveway so it was too late to use my warranty. I replaced the belt myself and it pops every time I hit somewhat heavy or wet snow.
also, this machine has no power and can't handle more than 4-5 inches otherwise you have to tilt the machine up to do the top and then pull back and do the bottom half.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
