They sent me a used broken snowblower!

It was delivered in a nice box. The box was not damaged but the staples that held the top shut were removed and cellophane tape was used to keep it shut. I removed the cellophane tape and looked inside the box, first thing I noticed was the head light assembly was broken, second thing I noticed was that the body of the snowblower was scratched all around, third thing I noticed there was oil in the the oil pan and gas in the gas tank (illegal to ship it like that, too bad UPS did not know about that). I looked at the paddles and they were covered in mud. It was obvious this snowblower was used and broken. I contacted sears customer service through online chat. I asked them if the snowblowers they were selling for a discount were brand new. The person said "rest assured all of our snowblowers are brand new". I asked if that is the case, why did they send me a broken down, damaged and used snowblower? Took him a few minutes to respond and came back apologetic and only offered to place a new order by charging it to my credit card, but would not refund my credit card for the used snowblower they sent me until it was returned. That machine weighs 100 pounds. It was very inconvenient to find someone with a truck to help me haul it to UPS. I don't know if sending used and broken merchandise to people is a new habit for Sears because a few months ago they delivered to me a used and broken down clothes dryer. I'm done with ordering from Sears, never again. Buyer Beware! Sears gets ZERO stars from me.

Real Good Snow Blower

|

I purchased the 21” Craftsman Snow blower model 247.88782
on 12/30/2012 at one of our local Sears stores. While I have a 28" for when we have tons of snow, my wife uses this when we have 6-inches or less if it isn't heavy wet snow. Wet snow clogs up shuts no matter what size they are. While we check the oil level, we have never had to add oil. I have never done a tune up on the machine and its still running great. Just add gas to it and reuse it. The best part is the electric starter, well worth the extra cost of the machine..

Important item to own when you live in Montana

Sure beats shoveling! We have had some problems with it starting though. Have had to take it in several times to have it fixed.
