I used my new snow blower twice today and it works great. It has no trouble picking up wet snow. It handles like a champ with lots of power. My wife used it with no problems and she is 5' 2''. Turning the snow blower was slightly tough for her but not a big deal. It is easy to use and to start even without the electric starter. I would highly recommend this snow blower. Word of caution if you plan to order online. I would recommend buying your snow blower from a Sears store and NOT online. I requested free delivery assembly from the store salesman. He also honored the online sale price. I was told online will deliver it but will not assemble it. In addition, I was told that if anything goes wrong with the snow blower the Sears store sales man cannot help or get involved. Sears online is outsourced by another company. The online attendants are not from the United States.
Purchased this snow blower the night before we were supposed to get a big storm. Took it home put it together and gassed it up and got it ready to use in the morning. The snow came and I got ready to use my new snow blower and the thing would not stay running. I purchased the five year service plan with it so I called and they couldn't get anyone out to look at it for a few days so I had to manually clear my drive way with a shovel. The service guy came out and said he cleaned out the carborator and that it should be fine. More then a month past before we got the next big snow storm and again the machine would not stay running. I had to run the machine at half choke and restart it over 50 times to get through clearing my drive way one time. I called service again to have them replace the machine they would not authorize a replacement because it was past 30 days even though I called in after owning the machine less then 24 hours for the issue the first time. ****NEVER BUY A CRAFTSMAN****
We've had this for about 3 years and it works really well. My only complaint- every year, I run the gas out of it at the end of the winter season. The following winter, when I put gas in it, it takes numerous priming sessions over about 30 minutes before it finally starts. It's done it every year and I don't know if this is common for all snowblowers. Once it starts, it's good for the season. I've never used the electric starter, as it's easy enough to pull the cord one time.
The quieter motor is nice, as I work late and have had to snow blow after 11 PM a few times to dig us out.
worked great for the first 2 years, Now it won't start.
We purchased this to replace a 35 year old snowblower. The previous machine started every year faithfully, but didn't have electric start. So, we bought this one. It worked fine the first winter, but wouldn't start last year, and won't start again this year even though we've done everything that the manual says to do.
Purchased on 2015, Every year , this snowblower does not work and I need to call technician and pay 200 box, which I did today again.
I have owned this since October 2017 and it has been a treat! It is easy to start and it has a healthy appetite for snow! Light snow or heavy wet snow, this beast eats it up and spits it out with ease. This weekend in my area of WI we got 20 inches of snow, with even LARGER DRIFTS and I took this bad boy out three times and it took care of business. It's quiet (relatively speaking) and very fuel efficient. This is great value for the money.
