My Mom's basement was flooded, with no sump pump even close to the area. I bought this vac, wondering if it could really help pick the water up. It worked like a champ with water--I had only used one on sawdust before so I was hesitant to try it. 159 gallons later, it was dry!
I've had this for about 8 months, and have used it maybe half a dozen times. Was vacuuming my car and it just stopped dead. Of course, now it's out of warranty. I contacted Sears Customer Service via chat and was literally told "Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world...." It wasn't the best comment for me to hear when it seems the vacuum was defective. I wouldn't buy one again. That's unfortunate, because I've always liked Craftsman products.
I ordered a 9 gal shop-vac; thought I was getting a new unit. I got a used unit which was filthy inside, the accessories are tossed in the bottom; no manual and a pile of dirt in the bottom. When I called to replace this dirty item with a new item, I was told after much discussion that all they could do is have me return it and they would refund my $$. So I returned it. Time to go to **********.
