Battery compatibility!

I've read all the negative reviews for this product and decided to look into it a little further. This is what I've found, all xcp and newer 315.pp2011 lithiums work fine. The older first generation of lithiums ie 5166 5166.2 do not. All the newer batteries have wires going to all 4 terminals but the older ones only have 3 with one not being used. So if your not having luck with your batteries check this out. This issue was obviously overlooked during design of this product. Personally I've really only used the xcp batteries and never had one fail to charge or be maintained and ready for use when I grabbed it. So if you like the idea of this charger and have newer lithium batteries, I would personally recommend it.

Junk

Used this charger the way it was advertised, with Nicads and Lion batts. Say's it charges then maintains to keep full charge. It was very effective in ruining 3 brand new Nicads and the one Lion batt I have can no longer be charged above 50%. This product doesn't work the way it is advertised, I had to replace all of my batteries because I have too many of the C3 tools that would otherwise be rendered useless. Do yourselves a favor and stick to the single port chargers, I have three of them and they work properly. Do not forget Lion batteries need to be charged in a charger designed for them, Nicad chargers will ruin them. I had to purchase a Lion charger (conveniently for Sears) and I now use the multi port charger for STORAGE ONLY!!!!!!

Hot Deal?

|

A Sears Popup advertises this item as 69.99. I Click on it and It states the Item is available for 84.98 and is a Hot Deal, regular price 84.99. Some HOT Deal and BTW what happened to 69.99?
Even at 69.99 this charger is not worth .05. Plug batteries in and you get "Port Error". What is a Port Error? Look in the manual for information. Battery NOT inserted correctly. Insert you hear a Click. How can the battery not be inserted correctly. It then lower on the page says press the C3 button to show the culprit. I Press the flashing button and I think I hear the charger Laughing at me for thinking It knows anything. Nuf said.
