Picked this up on sale because it was rated for more torque than my DD2100. Driving power feels exactly the same in my opinion. I believe they share a common motor. Craftsman probably just manipulates the ratings based on which battery you use. Nevertheless---Excellent drill. Plenty of power, super lightweight, only 8" long. Fits between deck joists to drill and drive. I really enjoy using it because it is so comfortable in my hand. I put on an XCP compact battery and it is as light as a toy drill. The XCP 4.0Ah battery makes it a little heavier, more balanced actually, and it runs for hours and hours. Highly recommended.
I have a few corded & cordless drills. I've bought quite a few C3 tools & ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! I love them so much I figured, what the heck, I'll get another drill! Do I really need another drill? Well that question was squashed once I got this thing! It's the best drill I own other than my 24 volt Channel Lock Super Heavy Duty. The 1/2 C3 Drill is Amazing; it is so compact with so much power! I can take the handle on and off depending on the requirements of the job & it can handle both small & large projects. If you have other Craftsman C3 tools, this is a must have & should be bought over any other C3 drill!
This add-on tool is better than some of the drill/drivers that come as a set. It has a detachable side handle to hold it when more pressure is required and the chuck is half inch size, bigger than the 3/8 inch chucks included with some other drills.
As the title says, this is an add-on tool so it does not include a battery. This is not a problem if you have other tools of the C3 line that come with a battery and charger. The drill is a good addition to the line.
This drill is powerful. As soon as the trigger is released it breaks suddenly and this results in the chuck opening. This can be frustrating at times.
Works great and has lots of power
