The VersaTrack Mounting Kit fits our new shed perfectly. Smart design. Remember to measure your longest tools so you will mount it high enough (so the tools won't drag).
Vertical support brackets are necessary in order to mount these VersaTrack pieces. Although the box indicates that they are included, they are not. The instructions with the VersaTrack Mounting Kit say that the vertical supports are included with the shed. They are not. (At least they weren't with mine.) It took me awhile from time of purchase to build my shed's foundation and then to assemble the shed, and now it is too late to return this "kit." The kit does not include necessary screws, either (which I knew, and purchased.)
As mentioned previously this mounting kit is one part of several pieces to build shelving or use hooks. This CVTK100 is the vertical support to hang the horizontal VersaTrack Trackwall rail which you also need to purchase separately. The rail is designed to easily place/hang hooks or shelfs all for additional cost for the VersaTrack product. If you only purchase the the CVTK100 you will not be able to hank the hooks or shelving. This is not clearly evident when reviewing this product. I was mislead thinking the mounting kit and some hooks was all I needed. I'm on my third order to get my shelving installed in my shed. Poorly described product and unfortunately typical with what I've seen with Sears over the past few years.
I wanted to install the VersaTrack system in my Craftsman shed. It turns out, you need to install the 3 bars in this product (list at 39.990, the Versatrack Trackwall (13.99), and then the individual hooks and shelving. So overall there is a lot of expense for some hooks and shelves (for example, each hook retails for 9.99). You can bring the cost down by shopping sales, using points, and coupons.
As stated previously, the systems performs as expected. One other consideration. If you look in the shed manual, it shows that these 3 bars can only be mounted in one specific place on each wall, at one height. The height is a little low for my preferences.
One other idea, if you are looking for shelving, consider a 2'x4' shelving rack like Gorilla or Edsal. Put something under the legs, like plywood, so they don't damage the plastic floor.
I give this product one star because we don't have all the parts. All the parts to the system are not included in the box. Only the bars that the track attaches to. Not the track itself or the hooks. Every little piece has to be ordered separately. No one at the store told us that we needed to buy each part separately. What we thought was gonna be $25 is now gonna end up being $60 plus depending on how many $9 hooks we buy. Very deceiving. Shame on you Sears
