This is just the site size for tough jobs better then standard size to get a good trip on your part
Purchased to help with a plumbing job because of its size but was not able to use because it was too small. 2nd time I was able to use it - it broke within 5 minutes of job. Center screw failed similar to the problem the first reviewer experienced. I have contacted Sears to see about the warranty because it seems like it should be covered by the usually Craftsman lifetime warranty since it has the Craftsman name on it and the warranty information is on the items webpage....but I guess when it come down to it unless they give me my money back I am still going to be stuck with a tool that is not much good for anything.
I've been purchasing Craftsman for decades and find Craftsman tools of today sometimes have quality issues however the 12" Groove Joint Pliers I received are fine. I suggest anyone buying hand tools in-store inspect all sets on the shelf first rather than just grabbing the first one. Sometimes times they're NOT all the same.
