This is a great product that has many uses. It works with an expensive airbrush I have without damaging it, I have had some smaller air compressors damage my airbrushes, so this was a pleasant surprise. It is also handy to fill a leaky tire, whether on my tractor or one of my cars. I have also used it to put nails in a railing that had come loose. All the attachments are quick to put on and take off. It also does not look like the bulky air compressors that have the same power.
This unit is loud for how small it is. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but because it has to refill itself constantly, it's pretty annoying. If you can afford something better, buy it. Otherwise, it's a great bargain to get a compressor, nailer, hose, and air kit for under a buck. Even better if you can get it on sale. I give it two stars because the price I actually paid was fair, but otherwise, I would've purchased a real Craftsman, Porter Cable, or Stanley Bostitch and accessories for 2-3 times as much if I could've worked up a good deal on one. This will have to do for now. When it breaks, I'll cash in on the additional warranty I bought (having never purchased EVOLV, I don't really trust it not to be junk), or if I come up for the budget for a decent 7-10 gallon, 150 PSI unit, I'll sell it and get some of the money back. Long story short, it's loud and will run constantly because of the small tank capacity. The weak motor doesn't fill it very fast, either. It's OK, I guess...
I got this compressor for light duty jobs around the house, it worked great at least a few months and then the pump either is failing or is toast. I wouldn't recommend you buying this product unless you're spending the extra dough for a 3 yr warranty at least. Better off looking at something that isn't the Evolve brand, I can't say I wasn't warned by the sears sales guy! He said that these are a hassle to get replacements for them if they ever break, they have to send them out to the manufacture and try to get them repaired and then they'll evaluate whether to give you a store credit or a replacement.
Bought in April 2013 for $69.99. I used this item lightly (mainly for tire inflation) for a few months, then it broke. It is loud, fills too slow, then died. Regulator went bad. Probably not worth the purchase.
