Basic Project center is really nice and useful

I decided to purchase this project center instead of the Craftsman 5 drawer powered project center. The only real assembly is putting the good size casters on with 4 screws/4 nuts each, took about 5 minutes. What I needed for my workshop is a nice mobile work unit with good room on top for using my other Craftsman power tools, specifically the Premium router work table, my variable speed 6 inch grinder, my 1/3 HP belt/disc sander, and my 12 " drill press, and my scroll saw. Now the difference is there is a MDF top here you can see, and under that is another hard plastic flat work top, whereas the powered project center has storage under the MDF top for screws and such. I went and got a piece of steel to cover the MDF to make it look cool and also protect it. This Project center does not have an internal lock, it is like the most basic tool storage that Sears offers, you have to use a lock on the retainer bar that slides in the front. I have no need to lock it, but a standard cheap lock fits in and seals it up. The selling point for me was the large storage compartment bottom. I can fit my Craftsman belt sander or bench grinder in the storage on the bottom of the cart which worked for me. I keep router bits, scroll saw blades, sanding discs and belts and drill bits in the drawers. So whatever power tool I put on top, the extras are real handy and close by. If you want a surge protector/power outlet on this, I just got a 5 outlet $13 Defiant strip and ********** and mounted it under the top on the back with 2 sheet metal screws. So overall, this is a basic product, but if you need some big bottom storage this product works really well. I got it on sale for $119. It would work great if you just needed regular tool storage also.

Craftsman 3-Drawer Project Center

|

I purchased this 3 drawer project center to put my 3D printer on top and use it as a tool center to house my filament and tools for 3D printing. When I received the item, the top plastic piece was damaged. The replacement part is on back-order. The drawers function good and there is a place for all of my 3D printing tools, along with other tools.
