I've had this Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener now for about 6 weeks, and have had no issues with it whatsoever. I have a wooden garage door which soaks up moisture occasionally when it rains, and the opener has had no problems with handling the extra weight. HOWEVER.... I had one major issue with the installer sent by Sears to perform the installation. He arrived on time to perform the installation, and proceeded to look over my existing set up. He then told me that I would need new rollers, rail, chain, and safety harness (cable) because the existing set up was unsafe and violated safety rules (BS!) . When he got finished adding up the parts and labor, the cost came to over $500. I was really looking forward for a long time to having this thing installed, so I agreed, and paid him by check to perform the work. I did a little investigating on the net and YouTube, and discovered that for $80 a garage door installer can perform the same annual service or you just can just do it yourself. All the parts just needed lubrication because they were all in working condition. I know this because I manually open, and closed the door daily with no issues. I had Sears install appliances before but for now on I will NEVER have them install ANYTHING in my house that will cost extra $$$. If they can't perform simple installation with what they got then I will buy the item, and hire someone else separately to perform the installation.
I ordered this item and picked up at the store. Came without the push button and I have been bounced back and forth trying to solve this iszue
Works great! I love the keyless entry. Motor is quiet.
