This tool comes in handy for those times when a nut or bolt drops into the black abyss, those times when one must root around under the car with a flashlight and a magnet. It combines both into one on a telescoping rod. The balance of the tool is different from non-lighted magnet tools because of the weight of the batteries, and also the large magnet required to fit around the light bulb, and as a result the rod is a bit bendy when fully extended. The manufacturer claims that the magnet can lift 5 pounds, which seems optimistic to me, but it is more than strong enough for my use, mostly retrieving nuts, bolts and screws. The batteries, which are stacked behind the magnet, look like common watch-type units, and the bulb appears to be an LED, so it and the batteries should last a while. The end unscrews easily for access to the bulb and batteries. The tool is listed as made in the USA of globally sourced parts.
Great tool compact fits in my tool box. Syrong magnet picks up great. Shipping was fast very pleased with it. I've had great service with Sear on line ordering.
