Obtuse. Is it deliberate?

During a remodeling project on my stairs, I noticed the angles on all three axis were waaaaaaaay off, and this tool helped keep me from screaming bloody murder trying to do keep track those poorly constructed treads and risers. Though I usually prefer metal tools, the high density plastic has held up well. Not sure if a professional contractor would use this, but for around the house for us DIYer's, I think this a tool you'd not realize you'd truly need until you use it!
