Hi all. I work at a Tire Shop. Bought this Scanner to replace an older Innova unit. This one is the Same as Innova 5100 Pro Series. Before the First use, I went to Innova website and downloaded the Repair Solutions software. Plugged the supplied USB cable into the unit and my PC. Win 10 found it. First thing it did was Update the Firmware. Then the Database. Waiting for Innova to Activate my account to use the Repair Solutions. I gave it 4 Stars. As I have only used it a couple of times. May change it to 5 after some use. It takes a little to get used to the layout of controls. Jumping through the screens to use the different functions. Today I had to use it to tell me how to reset a Maintenance light on a Toy Sienna. It worked perfectly. Ran the Alternator Test on my personal vehicle, 16 Hyundai Tucson. Used it to pull Codes from Customer Cars. The Lighted OBD II connector is a Plus when going under the Dash. And the Scanner tells you the Area to look for the connector. Reads TPMS.
No where in the ad for this scanner nor on the box, does it say this is for professional use only. However, unless you are a shop owner/employee, Innova will not set up the RepairSolutions account for you and without that you can not even update the software. I had to call them after getting an email that my application was rejected and being unable to connect online with the tool. This is going back to Sears. Probably a nice tool if you think you will never need to update it or are a professional with ASE certifications.(Required by Innova). Sears needs to mark tools that are for professional use only! Someone that just works on their own cars or wants to diagnose a problem before taking car to a shop doesn't need to waste their time and money on this tool.
no point getting this tool there is no software that will update this thing the software I have won't run on win10; a total waste of money, you do better look at ************** OBD-II scanners.
Got this, read on the box to go to pro.innova.com to sign up for an account. Clearly shows you need an ASE certification to sign up for a pro account. I tried anyway and got shot down immediately. Don't waste your time on this, go get the 18655.
