This tool is able to do a lot more than just remove tacks.

I originally purchased this tool to remove small tacks & nails in hard to reach areas where a large claw hammer or pry bar can't go. I discovered another use for it yesterday while doing a repair job on an oven. There were two rusted hex head screws connecting an old igniter inside the oven which were stripped, and impossible to remove without causing damage. I was able to get the screws a little loose, then insert this tack puller behind the hex head of the screw. I applied pressure with the tool while turning the hex head screw to successfully remove the damaged screws without damaging the mounding bracket for the igniter. This made the job much easier to do, and helped prevent unnecessary damage. The handle has a good grip too.

Not the same tool from years ago

I bought one of these years and years ago. I still have one of the older models so I ordered a new one with the tool number on the original. The new tool is different, they changed the angle of the tool and the opening. Works not even close to as good as the old one. In the photo online for the tool, it has the old style displayed. Change it back please!!!! I’ll pay twice as much for the old style.
