There were those online who were running to the big box home improvement store to buy a $199 set of lower powered beginner tool. Once they start using the set and even getting experience in the tools, they will want more power and will want to upgrade. Start with this set by paying a little more upfront and you will not have to upgrade. The saw is great for cutting the 2x4s and 1" thick 4'x8' sheets. The reciprocating saw gives good performance in demolition. The Dewalt drill is better and more powerful than the lower powered drill of the home improvement store green colored drill. Used daily by contractors, these tools provide the buyer their money's worth
I can find a use for the bag. The rest of it is worthless. The tools use all available charge from the way too small battery packs in a matter of minutes. The drill driver is too heavy and the light on it is just stupid. The circular saw is dangerous in that the blade rotation is the wrong direction and throws material straight up into your face. The reciprocating saw came without a blade. The flashlight is bright but so what. I don't consider a flashlight to be a tool. In all a very disappointing purchase.
I bought this kit specifically for the mission trip work I do every summer. Having a full set of construction tools that are battery powered allowed for a much easier week than I have had in the past dealing with all the corded tools, GFI adapters and extension cables. I have been using Dewalt tools for many years and they are my go to company for reliable well designed products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Received this combo kit as a retirement gift just a week ago and I am impressed.
