Excellent saw

I regretted not buying this saw DCS380B since it came out, if you own a home this saw is a must, it is very versatile saw, pruning palms, limbing and cutting trees and doing house repairs that required cutting or plunging cut. It is an all around saw! Cordless is the only way to go when pruning palm trees. Excellent saw!

Unsuitable for Pruning

I bought this saw primarily for pruning limbs as that is one of the advertised features. Also bought a pack of 3 pruning saw blades. The blades chatter badly unless you can press the shoe firmly against the limb and use a leverage motion for cutting. I found that a blade with more teeth per inch than a pruning blade worked better, but also slower. Also unhappy with the time of service I get from the batteries. Seems like the design requires that the shoe be pressed firmly against the material you are cutting. There are jobs were that would be difficult.

An extremely useful albeit power hungry tool

|

Slizes easily through everything. Love the 4 way blade setting. My small 1.5 ampere hour batteries only last 15 minutes maximum each. Recommend 5 or 6 amp hour batteries for prolonged use.

Light Weight

|

This is used all day every day. It's light and it gets the job done. It doesn't matter what material I'm cutting it slices like butter. The best part is that the blades have a quick release and they are so easy to change out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
