Needed to hand-cut some fence pickets. Tried a coping saw but that was too labour-intensive and the cuts were sloppy. Decided to go ahead and spend the money on a proper jig saw. Always liked Dewalt quality. Found what I wanted on the Sears website, then found out they had a sale and also a promotional weekend. I also saved shipping by picking it up at my local Sears as they had this item in stock.
This jig saw is easy to use. The hand grip is comfortable and guides you nicely. Due to the low vibration, you can get very accurate cuts from this tool. I'm very satisfied. I do wish the battery-powered version was affordable as I have quite a few Dewalt 18v tools.
what can i say > nothing as good as Dewat and great price at Sears
This is a REAL tool. Typical DeWalt...made with metal and cuts like a knife.
This is an awesome saw! Plenty of power and I love the guide.
Was in the middle of making a pallet dining room table, when our old jig saw cut its last board. Went to Sears, totally unprepared for what we were going to buy. Normally we do research and are prepared. The sales people were more than knowledgeable and offered us pros and cons on all of their models. We decided on this one because of its strength. Got it home, and it sliced thru the pallet boards like butter. Wow, what a work horse. I can see many more pallet adventures to come!
Good jig saw. Good power and well balanced. Shoe adjustement requires a screw driver. A tooless system is much better, but it is dependent on the price point of tool you are seeking. The shoe position does not have preset detents so if you want to maintain a true square cut you will also need a square to check your shoe setting.
