I bought this blower for my dad for Father's Day 2015. He is now the envy of the lake. Variable speed works great around flower beds, and plenty of power to blow wet leaves. The blower balances well in the hand with great run time (20 minutes on full blast, 45+ minutes with regular usage). Home is on 3/4 acer with a 5 acer back lot. I would highly recommend the DEWALT 40V line of tools.
If you live in the city (no driveway, no yard) fine. If you live in the x-burbs (large yard, leaves, etc.), leave it alone ! I took it out the box - charged up the battery - went out to try it - worked for 20 minutes then the battery died. Put it back in the box and returned it for all my money back. No power, too much $.
Blows harder than the 20 volt but ......hate the huge 40volt battery that don't last 20 to 30 min tops. Was going to buy weed eater to get another battery... but went with 20 volt. 40 volt system just sucks not sure why they made batteries sooooo large.
Save you money get you a 20v throw a 60v pack in it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this blower to replace my gas echo blower. My gas blower is powerful for maintaining the leafs and grass clippings on the lawn, driveway, around our pool and our garage. The only issues were that my wife had to prime the gas bulb, adjust choke and pull the cord 3-4 times to get it started. Then the exhaust smell would linger around in the garage and her hair lol. The 40 volt Dewalt blower is her new favorite outdoor tool. She gets the same job done with less effort and no gas and exhaust smell. Just charge the battery. Clip it back on to the blower when fully charged and pull the trigger and you’ve just waken up an air blowing beast powered by a 40 volt battery with no gas smell!!! I’m slowly converting my lawn equipment to battery power thanks to Dewalt. I’ve recently bought the 20v hedge trimmer and im just as impressed with the power and weight of it also. I havnt even gotten the blower and iv already made two payments the est store pick up date was almost there days ago
I invested in 3 different tools using the same 40V system. The blower started having problems making a squealing sound with a loss of airflow intermittently. This problem became continuous, it was unusable. Fortunately it was still in warranty, DeWalt switched it out for a new one. Very happy with the performance, plenty of airflow, battery lasts long enough for me. Yes it is an expensive system, and I imagine most of that price is for the battery and charger. But I avoid the corded or gas powered blowers which have their own disadvantages. It is a little heavy, but only using it for 10-15 minutes is okay. I would buy it again.
Love this product! Simple to use so easy my kids can work it. Great battery life compared to other cordless brands.
