THE BEST WARRANTY FOR THAT BIG BATTERY AND THE PRODUCT STANDS PRETTY GOOD WITH ANY OTHER BRANDS IN THE MARKET
The fitment guide for this battery states it will fit most Mercedes models. Physically, it does fit, but the version I received does not have an external vent tube attachment. In the picture it shows the open vent slots on both sides of the battery, these cannot be directed to an external vent tube so the battery should not be installed in an enclosed location. Most Mercedes models of the last 20 years do not have the battery under the hood. If your battery is under the hood, you're good to go. But if you have a model with the battery inside or in the trunk, you should NOT use this battery even if the fitment guide recommends it. I'm sure the battery is good--but I bought it as a spare and it sat for 3 months before I tried to put it into one of my Mercedes... unfortunately they all have enclosed batteries so I couldn't rotate them around so they all were properly installed (this is also an issue with some batteries that don't conform to the dimensions at the top, so top bracket's don't tighten).
This is a great replacement for the overpriced stock one. My car starts nice and strong every time. Don't waste your time and money with these other brands. I tried the optima red before this and the difference is night and day. Obviously I could've got a bad apple but at the end of the day I paid for a "premium" battery and it left me stranded multiple times shortly after installation. So I went with the more reputable guys this time and could not be happier. No problems powering my aftermarket sound system. 5 stars for sure.
This is my 5th Sears DieHard AMG battery purchase for my BMWs. This last one was for a '03 E39 525i Wagon. As this purchase was 2 years ago, I wanted to provide some feedback on the life and product quality. Sears delivered exactly as was marketed, and advertised, a battery that fits imports correctly, provides a high amp delivery start no matter what the weather (More batteries die in HOT weather than cold), and has done so going on 24 months.
This battery has the proper vent tube hole ready to install, fits the battery mounting position, and delivers. DieHard batteries will provide a good long life if properly cared for like anything in life. Clean the terminals before installing, vacuum out all the dirt in the mounting area, clean with bacon soda to neutralize any boiled over acids from the last battery and dry completely. Add a battery tenders on the non daily drivers cars and the life span of your battery will increase to 8 years. My personal record is 12 years.
What more could one ask for?
When it comes to batteries, I recommend Sears DieHard batteries. I have purchased them for 40 years and all delivered great results. Thanks Sears!
They told me my old battery was still "good" according to their reading. I had three incidences where the battery hesitated too much & would not turn over. I replaced it with this one & we start the first time, every time, with no hesitancy.
