The previous Sears marine battery lasted 9-10 years with very little charge cycles. While the back up pump was seldom used, the battery still held the charge to keep the pump functional.
Bought this battery June 23, 2016. Will not take a charge after one year and 11 days. Used the battery my trolling motor. Had full charge and no problems in May and went to top off on July 4th and would not take more than 75%. Went down to 25% after 12 hours. Service guy told me there's nothing he can do and the price of a new one is $125.00. Not even an offer of a discounted price, warrenty is over and that's that. Off to ******* I go.
Bought two of these batteries in April 2018. Yesterday, 14 June 2019, only 14 months later, both batteries failed over 11 miles offshore stranding me without power. Neither battery would take a charge from solar panels. After the USCG sent a Tow Boat to help, the tow boat jumped the battery to get my engine started. The batteries would not rise above 7 volts and discharged almost immediately. Recharging at home was fruitless. Testing of the battery showed bad cells. Of course it is just beyond the warranty of 12 months and Sears is not offering anything other than letting me use them as core charge for a new purchase. Nice.
I am happy with this battery. It does the work that is needed.
