been wearing diehard boots for 40 years with flat sole. no mud tracking into customers house. cant find flat sole diehard boots.please bring them back asap thanks
Let me start by saying I have always been a fan of Diehard boots...I order a different model for myself all the time and have had no problem with them...However These boots are literally faling apart. Bought them for my 18 year old son who is a college student & only works on weekends. I am shocked that sears would sell such a crappy boot. I think I could have done better with a 20 or 30 dollar boot from *******! They said that it is out of warranty because it is over 3 months (4 months old & used 16-20 times & ready for trash!) HUH! Sears used to have a 1 year warranty on their boots...I guess this is a sad sign of the times...don't don't don't buy these boots you will be sorry! So people keep in mind the 3 month policy and if you have any problem with any boots even the slightest in that time period get right on it! Lesson Learned on my end!
I always order these work boots for my husband and typically have good luck with them, but this time around they are a huge disappointment. Firstly, the inside of one boot had a piece of leather that wasn’t properly trimmed and unfortunately because it wasn’t caught before he wore them, he ended up with a HUGE blister on his ankle. He tried to trim the leather piece but because of the location, he’s unable to do so. I’m not spending extra money to have them fixed by a shoe repairman so, they are now useless. Needless to say, he’s unable to wear them now. Secondly, on top of it all...we noticed that the pair had two different soles! One of the reasons we like these particular boots is because of the soles. No longer! So disappointed with this purchase and with Sears!
I loved these boots … before they changed the soles. I am a floorcovering contractor, and have worn this boot for decades. They are extremely comfortable, with little to no break-in period. However, what I liked about them the most was the smooth soles. I never had to worry about picking all the dirt out of them EVERY time I came in from outside.
Changing the soles was a terrible decision. I'm thinking about taking my belt sander and grinding them down. I have never worn through the sole anyway. When I have to replace them it's usually because the liners have fallen apart, and the toes have developed holes.
If grinding them flat doesn't do the trick, I won't be buying these boots anymore. Very disappointed.
Wrong size sent.
I've been buying these boots for years & for most of that time they met my expectations, got about a year of wearing them daily. They came in a EE width which fit my feet perfectly, no painful break-in period. However, the last two pair I've purchased have been a huge disappointment & show a diffident lack of quality in the same area. Within a week, actually a few days, the soles literally start to disintegrate, come unglued, crack & fall off. It's happened twice & Sears must be aware of this. I would, unless they've rectified this stay away from making this purchase. Wish I could post up a picture.
