We purchased this unit for our new home and, in general, are very happy with it. The French Doors, glass shelves, and well-lit interior make it a pleasure to use. Moreover, there are so many special compartments for storage of unique food items. We particularly like the drawer inside the freezer for storing ice cream and the drawer in the primary compartment for storing wine bottles. The knock off for this item is the ice maker. While it makes ice well enough for our needs, the wire sensor that detects when the ice tray is full and shuts the maker off also has the additional feature of raking the ice over the back side of the ice tray from which it falls down inside the unit and from there off on to the kitchen floor. This is very irritating to us and causes us to rate the features and quality lower than we would otherwise. We were warned that in a below the unit freezer it is sometimes harder to find items, but that is the trade-off.
Was the lucky person to receive a lemon. Ice maker made 1 batch of ice from day 1. Got names of factory approved technicians. They had 1-3 week wait times. Some didn't service my area.Others were not in the area so appointments were mid day which meant taking the whole day off from work & only 1x week. Multiple problems w/ refrigerator (icemaker & refrigerator was in freezing temp which cracked lines & plastic parts of filter). Sensor replaced, filter, filter housing (all on separate visits), the eventually this was solved. Icemaker still not working. Lost faith in 1st tech & asked for local technician. Tired of taking so many days off. Local tech better. Took 2 visits & looks like problem resolved. Refrigerator delivered 7/25/13. Final problem probably resolved 12/10/13. I bought at independent dealer to get the service I felt would not be there from do it your self like Lowes or online. Ended up with having to deal with this myself anyway. Felt like it was all on me to provide proof this was a lemon. Was 1 step away from having the refrigerator replaced as defective - learned all the rules. Last tech was declaring it unrepairable. I feel like I need to buy the continued warranty b/c I did get a lemon & who knows what else will be wrong with it. Took a total of 5 visits & 1 failed visit b/c tech couldn't come when promised. I know you don't count diagnostic visits, which means 3 to you, but we were home 5x. Our time counts too. Not entering for prize - someone just needs to read/hear this.
The ice maker stopped working after 3 years; now the coils are freezing up. It continually making popping sounds. And it is only 5 years old.
Second time the ice maker has stopped responding. First time was a seating issue. This time the tray is not getting water. Is there a recall for this?
not alot of room. controlling temp in the fruit and veg drawers is good, but not the overall frig temp. door handles came loose quickly.
While I like some of the features of this appliance (lighting, freezer on bottom), I'm disappointed overall. Within 1 year, the plastic strips on top of the freezer drawer cracked and broke. Also, the plastic rollers that allow the drawers to slide out broke off, so I am no longer able to slide top drawer out. In addition, the bins are difficult to extract in order to clean.
We have a smaller kitchen and we wanted maximum use of space in our counter-depth refrigerator. This model has given care and attention to every detail! It's lovely and well made. We are thrilled with our purchase.
