I love, love, love these pillowcases! I got them for Christmas in Purple, Cream and white. They wash and dry beautifully!
I hate to be that one reviewer. I really do. These used to be excellent. Thick fabric, well sewn, excellent attention to detail. Recently, though, the quality just isnt there. They are still a heavier weight satin and the decorative detail is there, but the construction is shoddy at best. I recently bought two in burgandy. I washed them both on gentle, dried on low. When removed, one had a hole near the piping. No big deal, I thought. Perhaps it was a fluke. Less than a week later, while in USE, the second developed a rip by the side seam. Meaning, the fabric literally PULLED AWAY from the stitching, which means the sides were not aligned properly. This was the same issue with the first one as well. I can fix the one easily, the other will show. But i shouldn't have to. Such a shame....
this pillowcase (in brown) fell to pieces right out of the package to actual pieces.
I bought one of these pillowcases in natural color as a cheap pillowcase to replace one of mine. I wasn't expecting GREAT construction at $4 a pop, but the pillowcase I got was way worse than expected. There were a ton of hanging threads that I had to cut off and the threads in the seams are extremely loose to the point where the pillowcase is brand new and already falling apart. I doubt I just got a bad one, considering how poorly constructed every seam on the pillowcase is. This also isn't the first time I've tried something from the Essential Home brand and ended up disappointed.
I've purchased these pillowcases 3 times. The first two sets were great, nice colors and just now starting to come apart (11+ months after purchase. In Oct. 2017 I purchased 3 additional sets. All but one ripped at the seams before use and the one I used shredded all the way down the long side of the pillow. Not a good exp. to wake up do. Since my first two sets held up for a year, I would say this is a quality control issue. Quality is what got me to keep buying them, but now I no longer trust this brand. I tried to return them to Kmart, but apparently I missed the deadline for returns so I'm out $$. So if you decide to try them, be sure to keep all packaging, receipts and get back to the store in well less than 30 days. Or test those seams as soon as you buy them before you leave the parking lot.
