I am lucky enough that I haven't had to see the Escape Light work. I like the way the Battery goes in the unit; quick and easy.
I installed this item close to my electric stove in kitchen and set up per instructions. One morning I placed a pot on stove to reheat some food and left it there unattended . While in my bedroom at other end of the house I notice and could smell something burning . I immediately ran to the kitchen and the room was full of smoke and the smoke detector did not go off . That stainless steel pot that I was using was very severely burned and I even thought of throwing it away but didnot. it took me about three days to clean it with oven cleaner.
Smoke alarms should be essential in homes and businesses. Not having any in our home, I decided on these.
They came with everything, except the battery. The battery was a little tricky to get in the correct place to get it to work correctly. The space is small to insert the battery, but it's like it needed just a little push to get the battery to connect with the alarm. The test button did have a little pause when pushing it, but it worked. We did test the alarms with a "safe" smoke & they worked as they should.
This is a very cheaply made smoke alarm for the price.
Came with battery and mounting hardware.
Worked well when tested and only uses one battery. Most smoke detectors with lights have to have 2 batteries.
