Just what I wanted

I bought my freezer because I have a large vegetable garden and want to preserve the fruits and vegetables from my backyard. I have lots of tomato sauce stored already and will add applesauce soon. And I still have lots of room!

just what I was looking for manual Defrost

|

This is a good sized freezer with manual defrost. I have found that manual defrost freezers keep food fresh longer. Even with the trouble of defrosting once a year, I feel it is well worth it to be able know my food safe. I do wish it had a tray in the bottom. That way you wouldn't need to get on your knees to see food on the bottom shelf. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A great choice!

We’re very happy with this upright freezer. We love how easy it is to organize and access our frozen food items now. The door seals up nicely, and it’s a solid, well made unit. No complaints whatsoever, and I’ve had various chest and uprights in the past. I’m confident I’ll get many years of service out of this one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Quality

I've had the unit for a few months. I bought it because it is designed to work in an unheated garage that drops below freezing. So good so far. Some complain about difficulty in opening the door. My experience is that it is nearly impossible(and I'm a strong guy) when you first close the door and try to reopen it, as it is still creating a vacuum to seal the door. I, personally, am glad it seals so well and am happy to wait 30 second between opening the door again. A note for those interested in buying: All of the unmovable shelves are a slightly different height. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
