I read the reviews and noticed the review were not good on this hood, but my wife and I bought all fridgidaire appliances for our new kitchen and she wanted the hood to "match". Going against the reviews and my better judgement we bought, what sounds like an airplane flying close to your home rather than a hood for steam/smoke. I have had different types of hoods and thus hands down is the loudest ever on the planet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I like to look of the hood and the light is really bright, which is nice. However it is way too loud - you can't hear anything else when it is on.

“Professionally” LOUD
|If Professional means like a commercial kitchen hood loud , it is! Impossible to hold a conversation while running at any speed!
Looks Great- Noisy
|Our vent hood looks great...love the design, but it's extremely noisy..sounds like a plane is landing on the lowest setting. Had a rep come to the home when working on a minor issue with our refrigerator... but...not his job?

Horrible....sounds like a turbo jet engibe
|Had a house built and didn’t have a choice of appliance manufacturer. The hood vent sounds like a jet engine. Too loud to use. Our builder told us that “they are all like thIs”. Unacceptable.
