Great so far!

If you're considering this fridge don't be swayed by all the low star reviews! So far this refrigerator is excellent! Sears replaced our defective refrigerator and I was able to choose the replacement from their website. I went back and forth between a couple that were a different brand (we'll call it Sam) until I took a social media poll and my friends astoundingly said NOT to get a Sam. I was confused because the reviews of this Frigidaire Gallery were very low compared to Sam. However, I researched the Frigidaire on other reputable store websites (BB and HD) and it had excellent reviews on those. Odd. This might be because many of the reviews on here are complaining about Sears in general, not specifically the appliance. I can't disagree with them about Sears, but the fridge is great! Anyway, I am very satisfied with this fridge so far. The black stainless finish is very nice and easy to keep clean. I haven't noticed any finger prints yet. It is very spacious inside the fridge and freezer sections and it has kept food very cold. I would have given it a 5 instead of a 4, however the lever to dispense ice/water is a little too short. If you are filling a larger water bottle you have to be really careful to get it exactly lined up to the lever and spout or you will spill some water. I think elongating the lever would help with this issue. Also, I do wish the freezer shelves were adjustable. As for complaints that I have seen from other reviews, I have not noticed any issues with the refrigerator being noisy. If you are near it you can hear it running, but it's nothing I notice when I get a few steps away. I have also not noticed any issues with the chill drawer being hard or noisy to open. The drawers aren't super smooth to open but they aren't difficult either. Do your research on other websites and you will see that most people who have purchased it agree with me that this is a solid refrigerator, especially for the price.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!

Sears delivery service DESTROYED my brand new completely renovated kitchen by DRAGGING my appliance across my kitchen floor, leaving gashes straight across the ENTIRE floor (it was completed only 5 weeks prior to them coming to exchange the defective appliance they sold us) They agreed to pay the $9,000 in damages, at 1st BUT (they sent the check in the wrong name, which I think they did on PURPOSE so we were told to return it, we did & it took over a week to hear back from anyone as to why it's taking so long) Now that they filed Bankruptcy, they are REFUSING to pay for the damage their delivery men has done to our home & we are stuck in a horrible situation. it's a disgrace how we have been treated

I barely give it two stars. The door makes a popping sound when you open or close it. Door is hard to open if it has been closed for a few hours. I wouldn’t buy again and don’t recommend.

Roomy but shelf cracked within the first month.

We love the space and features. It’s working great but we noticed the top shelf in the door is already cracked.

Not Quite

|

I bought this unit to replace another new unit purchased from another maker because the ice maker on the other did not work. This ice maker in this unit is not quite what I was looking for. It barely keeps up with my consuption of ice. In other words it does not put out enough ice. Also, the drawers are made with such a light plastic that I don't think they will last very long. They are not built quite like they should be. I shouldn't have to fill a vegetable drawer and then be afraid to open it because the handle to the drawer is not quite strong enough. Also the guard below the ice/water dispenser is so flimsy that after using the dispenser for a month it is warped. It no longer sits flat in the depressed place that it is supposed to. Also, this s unit replaced a 25 cu. foot unit that just so happened to be larger that the 25.5 unit of Fridgidaire's. The door shelves are an inch smaller and the unit is not as deep as the other unit. In other words this 25.5 unit is not quite as big as the previous 25 unit of ther other brand. Needed repairs from the factory

|

I had to replace both door bushings when it was delivered. I can not believe it came from the factory in that condition. Also the doors separation was uneven and had to have aligned.

Replacement

|

this was a replacement. Love the shape of the ice cubes and the fact that when you choose crushed ice it is really crushed (almost shaved ice which is a plus). The issues with the product is the fact that material for the shelves and drawers seem flimsy. The ice maker is so noisy that you would think someone coming through the door. The ice maker drips and makes a mess in the floor if you open the door to the freezer. There are times the water in the door keeps flowing once you have removed your glass and are not touching the lever. The stainless steel finish is hard to keep clean and shows fingerprints (we were told that wouldn't be an issue) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
