I purchased this cooler because in the past I would use plastic coolers that sat on my deck whenever I had a barbeque. This stainless steel cooler adds a look of elegance and sits high enough that my guests done have to bend over to get their drinks.
Cooler sat on the back deck in a protected area for a month. The stainless steel cover, screws, and drainage plug are all beginning to rust. The stainless steel surround is already starting to pull away from the plastic liner. Cheaply made, poor quality. We are so disappointed.
Sears sold me a used product that someone else returned. I received it as "new". The wheels were full of mud, sides dented, 1 handle crushed (could not get a grip), 2 screws missing and worse of all, trapped water between walls!!! Got all over my wood floors. Sears offered a $15 discount! Should have just returned it. Just might within 30 days if water starts leaking
I bought this from a sears store in Oakbrook, which is now closed - so I can no longer get questions answered. I used it once last fall, and now it's sitting rusted with warped side walls and all nuts and the drain covered in rust. I was told by the customer service line to return in store - even after telling them the store near me has closed down. I contacted permasteel - the manufacturer, and they said my pictures showed water droplets on the cooler, which must be the cause of the rust, and that I should have kept it dry. I pointed out that this is an outdoor product, and is meant to hold ice, hence it must be made to get wet. The rep told me the warranty was only 90 days and they could offer me a discount on a new one of 20%. I said I would take a replacement, but not if I had to spend even $1. No resolution. I would say this is a good looking drink box or ice chest, but don't expect it to last. I've had igloo's and other less nice looking ice chests last for decades, and even the Styrofoam gas station ice buckets last longer.
