Lots of helpful pointers from previous owners helped us solve the sag problem with canopy. Of the 5 bars that go on the top of the structure we reversed # 1, 3 and 5 (or turned them upside down). This corrected the pitch of the canopy. Also sprayed the canopy material with waterproof spray which aided in repelling water! Finally added 8 lbs weights to each corner of bar that allows you to move canopy back and forth to keep material taunt.
This is for outdoors right? It is flimsy. The material on top does not hold up well to any weather. One night of wind and rain wore it out. It took about 2 weeks for the ties to break off and have to be repaired. Once the material flapped a bit in the wind, it weaked it enough to tear when we tried to take it down. We tried to go to Sears for warranty. They told us we need to go to the Manufacturer. They manufacturer says it is not for permament outdoor use. It needs to be taken down for any weather. NO WARRANTY. This this is not worth 99 dollars, much worse asking price. If you are looking for one, inquire within. You can have mine. JUNK
Stands up to the weather changes. Just remove canopy at the end of the season and replace again in the Spring. Very easy to do!!!
This is one of the best things I have ever purchased for my back deck. the canopy is so easy to put on and take off when there is bad weather or for winter. I love my pergola.
We had purchased this last week on clearance and I have to say it was a bargain in comparison to other products out there. I purchased this as a cover over an outdoor spa. The spa is on the north side of my home and direct sunlight isn't a major concern, but I live in the Pacific Northwest, so rain is definitely a problem a good part of the year.
I followed the advice of a previous reviewer, flipping the 1-3-5 struts to provide a more consistent cantor to the cover. I also got 4 five pound ankle weights and hung them from the corners of the cover. The cover now comes with drain holes as well. As luck would have it, a thunder storm came through after it was up a few hours. Good downpour and it did produce some pockets of water accumulation, but nothing as described by other reviewers, and nothing that required a lot of inconvenience to drain..
Should note, the cover is waterproof, but is a very thin material - more a sunscreen than a cover. I have already purchased a heavy duty 10'X12' tarp and bungies that will go on it this fall. The cover it comes with would not likely survive a winter.
The structure appears very sturdy, but I was not confident with the small pins provided to anchor it to the ground. I have artificial lawn and did not wish to bury the post, but I did come up with a solution. I purchased 4 three gallon decorative plastic planter pots and two 80 pound bags of concrete. I set each leg in a pot and filled with about 2 gallons of concrete (about 35 pounds). The added weight gives me a bit more comfort that it won't lift off the ground and it does appear more solid
THE ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH RAINWATER IS TO INSTALL A FABRIC TOP LIKE GREENHOUSES USE IN THEIT OUTDOOR AREAS
EXTREMELY POOR DESIGN
Easy to assemble. Very spacious shade coverage.
Purchased this item on 3/27/12 and picked up at local Kmart. There is a major problem with rain water draining off the top, therefore creating water bellies between the cross members. This is a pain having to push the water off the canopy when it rains. About 2 months ago I pushed a hole through the canopy when pushing the water off with a broom. There is no drop between the last 2 cross members on each end causing the water not to drain off. Poor design as for as draining the rain water off. I have some images I will share, if I have an opportunity to add images between sending these comments.

Bought this item last year. We loved it at the beginning except for the canopy. When it rains it sags in several places and we have to use a broom to dump the water off - which is a pain to do several times a day. The canopy only lasted one full summer season. During the middle of the second season the canopy ripped in several placed. Also, the frame rusted at all the joints. We order another canopy at $129.00! I don't recommend this product. There must be something better on the market.
