Frame Bent Into Itself - Beyond Repair!

We got this as a "simple" replacement for our three-year old gazebo. I didn't want to invest in anything too permanent while going back to school, and this had one great review at the time I ordered, and looked great in the picture. It says for four-people to set it up. I did it with patience and back-and-forthing the pull-out, with bad knees and hips, within an hour. The directions are not that great, unless you have the practice and can guess what to expect (I put up our old metal frame many times while my husband was overseas) - in addition, read ahead, it will clue you in on some steps that they skip over in the step before. The colors are not as pictured; it is just plain, boring beige, where in the picture it looks like a combination of khaki and beige. It looked "cute," especially compared to our other "real" gazebo. In other words, I couldn’t take it seriously. The crisscross of the framework along the top sides is visible through the flaps that are supposed to cover it. The legs are like sticks. I cannot believe that Sears states this is okay to leave out in mild weather! After day three, a light wind came through, and the framework buckled into itself. The gazebo "crunched" in and flipped all to one side. While we were frantically taking all tie-downs, the netting, and roof down, the framework bent more and more, even splitting on one of the leg extensions (yes, they extend, even thinner than the leg). A total disaster. I've seen better and cheaper option for pop-ups at ******, but I thought this was so much more attractive, and could really fulfill the job. I was on chat with Sears for an hour. They are going to give us a full refund after we bring everything to the store 35 miles away. We couldn't even fold up the frame it was so damaged (plastic hinges too - many broke right off). I actually kept the transcript because I wanted to reiterate that the representative told me that it was okay for my husband to crush or beat the frame (my exact words that were met with that approval) further to be able to bring it in - that was the only way that piece of junk was going anywhere. The rep approved, asked us to be careful, and encouraged me to take a picture of the frame before crushing. Have transcript, order email, and return number to bring in. Final words: would never use as a set fixture, probably not even a temporary one due to the fact of a pop-up being cheaper, shocked at the cheapness of the frame, and we also need something waterproof.

My new Haven

|

The reviews I read before purchase were that people either loved it or hated it. I needed something to keep yellow jackets at bay so I took a chance. I LOVE IT! There were a few omissions in the set up instructions, it took two of us about 1 1/2 hours to set up. We did screw the legs into our deck. It is very stable and has held up well in wind and rain. My only complaint is the zippers are very tight so we don't usually open all the screens even though it looks really nice that way. The shelter easily accommodates a table for 6 with 6 large cushioned chairs. This is our new outside room. My Haven.

Not worth $10

I've owned this product for a couple months. I've had it up for 3 weeks. First rain we had, the wind snapped the weak joints and busted the supports. A very poor product. Don't spend your hard earned money for this cheaply made product. Buy something built well!
