It was a real pain to put together by myself, if you have someone to help hold parts it would probably be easier. It does fold up easy, but is still big and kind of heavy and awkward to move around. The handles stick out so it doesn't really store 'flat' and doesn't fit in any of my closets so I have to just prop it up against a wall when not in use. Still, it is a pretty good beginner's workout for small indoor spaces. I imagine it is similar in movement to cross country skiing and the speed you "ski," what angle you lean, and how hard you pull on the handles will adjust the intensity of your workout. If the included calorimeter/odometer/speedometer is accurate you can go 2 miles in about 25 minutes at a pretty quick clip and burn about 250 cal. Be careful though if you are a beginner, it might not seem hard at first and is pretty low impact on the joints, but I have been very sore after rigorous use in my arms, sides, back and legs! Apparently it works a lot of areas! For the price I am pretty well satisfied.
I have had a Gazelle for 20 years. When I discovered that it was not being made any longer I thought I should replace mine while I still could. Evidently it was a mistake! I've only used it for a week and it is making terrible noise! My husband thinks it needs lubrication but no instructions came with it. I am very disappointed because I love my Gazelle and we have already disposed of the old one. It is a great no-impact exerciser for me since I have degenerative arthritis, and it WAS quiet.
I love using the Gazelle. I am a senior citizen 81 years old and use it everyday. Living in Michigan it is hard to walk outside everyday for exercise but with the Gazelle I get my daily workout and keep off unwanted weight. It is easy to put together. I can watch TV while exercising. Especially I like the easy payments. It is a low impact exerciser. I have knee implants and what makes the Gazelle so wonderful it is easy on my knees. It is an excellent piece of exercise equipment.
I use it once or twice a week for 20 minutes or so. I and others noticed resutls right away. Saw changes in my thighs which had alwasy been a problem for me as well as lifting up my back-end again. It's easy to use and actually fun. Once I get going it can be hard to stop. I really love the timer and calorie counter on it. It's really easy to use, just step on it and go which makes working out simple. My 77 year old mother has one and recommend to me. She uses her's every day. Iv'e had several differnt machines over the years and they all ended up collecting dust. This is the only machine I have continued to use. I did have a little difficulty in putting it togeather and it's not as easy to move from one room to another as I would like. However it's sturdy and smooth.
i bought this used new to order replacement parts manual, fitness computer & weights on bottom of foot pads
I bought the edge a few days ago and I will tell you like the title it is better than expected. Ive used elliptical machines for about the last two years and the burn and feel of the workouts doesn't compare to my gazelle edge. Ive used mine everyday for atleast 45 mins a day and I can feel it in my legs, arms, and chest already. In just 45 mins I feel like I normally do when I go to the gym for an hour or two. I am very happy with this machine!!!!!
This is HORRIBLE. I need too lose 80 pounds and this doesn't cut it. No difficulty stages AT ALL and my scan thing (with the time, distance , ect) DOESNT WORK. It's so hard too put together and it's not a bit worth it. I'm pretty sure my heart rate isn't 88:88.
