Our Whirlpool refrigerator that was only 8 yrs old suddenly died so we had to make a quick decision and bought this GE model. We are very happy with it so far (only one month)
Ice maker already got stuck and I only had it a couple of weeks. Also the drawers on the refrig side are hard to open and close. They are made of poor quality. Not very happy with my purchase.
We never got the refrigerator; after three months of delaying delivery, they finally told us it was unavailable . Less than 1 star
Mid July my refrigerator went out. Went to Sear website to order a new one. Was unable to accomplish so worked through the chat feature. While helpful, kept sending me a link that stated the refrigerator selected was out of stock. Chat person said it wasn't and the order was placed. Ten days later received an email the order didn't go through and to place it again. Spent 4 hours collectively over 2 days, again via chat, then on the phone, trying to place the order. Numerous email links sent to get to the Complete Order screen, again stated out of stock, assured it wasn't, order completed. Sear charged my account, a delivery date was set three weeks out. Three days before delivery date notified by email the delivery date was moved out an additional month. Four days before scheduled delivery, notified by email the order was cancelled, I could expect a refund in 10 to 14 days. Ultimately, Sears had my money for 2 months while I had no refrigerator. Evidently not truthful about availability. I would have selected another model had ANYONE been honest anywhere along this ordeal. Truly priceless they want my review for a product not received.
Dealing with Sears was horrible. Constant rescheduling, each excuse for delay turned out to be a lie as each one contradicted the previous one. I realized they were just saying anything to shut me up. After 4 reschedules over the course of a month, I cancelled the order. Time passed but never got refund or notice of cancellation. I called a second time and again said cancel. Again, time passed with no refund. I had to call again, and again! Each rep saw my other requests to cancel but also saw that none went through. Interesting bit of info...every time I cancelled, I was offered a reduction in the price if I would only keep the order open. Each time I said no, cancel the order and give me back my money (which Sears charged to my credit card within minutes of my purchasing this frig.
It's now been two months since I purchased this frig and I have no frig, no cancellation notice (I have multiple cancellation confirmation #'s which are meaningless) and no refund. I had to contact my credit card company to start an investigation as to why Sears still has not cancelled/refund when it's had a month to do so and I have multiple cancellation confirmation #'s.
Do yourself a favor and google Sears ratings/reviews....you'll be stunned how low Sears has sunk.
Sears is lying about what they have in stock, then strings you along with more lies so you won't cancel and go elsewhere, and if you do try to cancel and go elsewhere, they won't process your cancellation or refund.
Only had it a couple weeks, and so far so good. Ample space inside, easy to use front panel. It's replacing a fridge from another brand that kept needing multiple repairs. However, it had some things going for it that I miss with this GE: Very bright LED lighting inside. The GE lights are a little underwhelming. My old unit felt sturdy, solid. This GE wouldn't stay put when I opened the door...until it was loaded with food. The GE's control panel buttons require a pretty firm push compared to the touch panel on my old one. I just am hoping the GE requires less repair. One last note: the last repair guy I had told me not to buy another one of the unnamed brand. I said, "well I'm looking at replacing it with a GE". He said "Good choice."
I would love to be able to review this product but two months after purchase I still havent received it...and its been delayed again with no end in sight. This is ridiculous and unacceptable customer service. Shouldnt sell a product if it is unavailable.
