I bought one week ago I very happy great performance
Purchased this dryer in October. We have a serviceman coming tomorrow because it takes an average of 90 minutes to dry a load of towels. Lighter weight items take an extended amount of time also. It doesn't get hot! When I open the door to check mid cycle the temperature is only warm. So far we are very disappointed with this purchase.
Works great and is a quality product. The buzzer that goes off to let you know when the laundry is done. Is a excellent feature.
First of all, the smell of gas coming from the outside vent was strong enough that we decided to call the Sears repair man out just a couple months after purchase. Whatever he did, it decreased the smell but did not get rid of it completely. We always feel a little unsafe but are living with it. 1 1/2 years later something inside the dryer broke. The dryer continued to work but it sounded like something inside was being tossed around with each dryer spin. We called Sears repair THREE times and he never showed up or called. We finally got an independent repair company to come out. He took it apart and put it back together again and said it's just junk and to live with the noise. He said next time to get a Kenmore instead GE.
After two months of use: I was concerned that the high capacity of this dryer would mean that laundry would take longer to dry. That has not been the case at all, and we tend to wash and dry rather large loads. The unit is easy to clean, looks nice, and performs quite well.
We bought this dryer as a set with a new washer (that's another story) in early 2016. Today was our third service call which has become and annual event. The first 2 calls were for bad igniters....this time a bad gas solenoid.
Dryer works well except it makes a buzzing sound during drying cycle several times which is very noisy. I don’t know if this is normal and may have to get it checked out.
