Now that I've had several days to use this oven, I've really come to like it. We bought it to replace a recent purchase of a different-brand microwave that suddenly failed after about 5 weeks' use. We bought this GE model because its features and size were similar to the one that failed. But, at a better price, which is a bonus! Had this GE model been on display when we bought the other one, we might have bought it first!
We really like the white interior; it's so easy to visually monitor what's cooking inside. The previous oven had a gray interior to coordinate with its stainless-steel front panel, but it was really hard to see the interior, even with a light on. A colored interior seems to be a new appearance trend for microwaves, but it's a design mistake. I hope GE continues to use a white interior. We noticed this feature while shopping for this one that all the GE models (that we saw) had white interiors; even the ones with black or stainless exteriors. Great job, GE! Keep it up!
The controls were familiar, having used an older model GE microwave that someone had loaned me, and this control panel fell readily to-hand.
This unit has plenty of power, is pretty quiet while operating, and the door has a substantial "feel" when opening and closing. The white steel housing is sturdy and feels substantial, and coordinates nicely with our other appliances which have white finishes.
All in all, it appears to be a great product, and I'm looking forward to getting many years' use out of it. Thanks, GE; I love it!
